<h2>As the library media specialist at my school, I wear many hats. Daily, I strive to balance my responsibilities as a teacher, information specialist, an instructional consultant, and a library administrator. As a teacher, I endeavor to promote reading, media literacy, ethical behavior with information, and a joy for learning. In the role of information specialist, I attempt to encourage the use of new technologies and to select, organize, and make resources readily available teachers. Functioning as an instructional consultant, I seek to assist teachers to align state curriculum with lessons, resources, and technology. Finally, when wearing the hat of library administrator, I do all that I can to be sure that the facilities are welcoming to students and teachers, to handle the budget wisely, to maximize my budget, to promote the library programs with administrators and all other stakeholders, to evaluate the effectiveness of the library program, and to develop professionally.</h2>
